Yuan Gao is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. His current research focuses on wireless signal transmission in the reactor vessel of the Versatile Test Reactor (VTR). The research will solve the challenge of hooking up electrical instrumentation connections in high temperature sodium and a radioactive environment by using low frequency mutual inductance.
